In August 2011, Mr. Mark Stadler will join HealthSmart as the new Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing. He will report directly to Mr. James Pennington, HealthSmart’s President.

Mr. Stadler will serve as the senior sales and marketing executive and will be the critical component to the organization’s effort to drive revenue growth, increase client membership and the improvement of bottom line value.

HealthSmart was founded in 1983 and has evolved as a true leader in the healthcare field. The company has grown to over 650 employees in seven office locations across the country. From the beginning, HealthSmart’s unique area of expertise has been its ability to integrate all of the elements of a health care plan including claims and benefit administration, care management, preferred provider networks, prescription benefit management, information technology services, risk management/stop loss solutions and on-site primary care clinics.

Prior to joining HealthSmart, Mr. Stadler served as Senior Vice President, Central/West Business Development for AON Consulting Worldwide in Dallas, Texas. Prior to AON he served as Senior Vice President, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer for American Enterprise Group in Des Moines, Iowa where he was one of five members of the executive leadership team responsible for the strategic direction and oversight of all sales, marketing, branding and product distribution activities, new product development, e-Commerce and other direct to consumer activities.

Mr. Stadler also served as Senior Vice President, Chief Growth Officer for UnitedHealth Group, Specialized Care Services (SCS) in Minnetonka, Minnesota.

For three years he served as Senior Vice President, US Markets/Marketing & Sales for Great-West Healthcare in Denver, Colorado (which has been purchased by CIGNA). In this capacity, he was responsible for growing the organization’s membership base (marketing and sales).Earlier, for almost 14 years, Mr. Stadler was with William M. Mercer, Inc. Mercer Human Resources Consulting in capacities such as Office Leader/Managing Partner, Chicago, Illinois; Office Head Indianapolis, Indiana; Local Practice Leader – Healthcare and Group Benefits, Indianapolis, Indiana; Consultant, Chicago, Illinois. He also held significant management roles with Allstate Life Insurance Company and Great West Life Insurance Company.Mr. Stadler received his BS in Business Marketing & Finance in 1977 from Loyola University in Los Angeles, California.
